Dr Emma Gray, Carbon Projects Specialist
Emma brings extensive carbon project experience to the team, having previously co-led the technical team at Select Carbon. Emma is broadly interested in understanding the role that humans play in shaping our environment and finding ways to switch the relationship from an acquisitive to a mutually beneficial one that ensures a socially and environmentally sustainable future.
Emma’s experience spans government, research, and industry. She has worked as a policy analyst for both NSW and WA governments and has consulted for governments and NGOs across various developing economies globally. She is an accomplished researcher, with a strong publication record in top tier journals, and her research has been recognised through several awards including the prestigious L’Oreal-UNESCO Women in Science International Fellowship. Emma’s extensive geospatial expertise is most recently showcased by her coordination of the development of a spatial tool to predict women’s access to employment opportunities in the renewable energy sector for the World Bank.
Emma holds a Graduate Diploma in Urban Design (University of Western Australia), a PhD in Functional Ecology (Macquarie University), a MSc in Botany (University of Cape Town), and a BSc in Environmental Science (UCT).
